There is a Taiwanese proverb that beautiful women are vases. It indicates that pretty women have no capability of dealing with any issue and difficulty, they are like decorative vases without an essential functionality. This notion has trapped women into a binary discourse with the implication of the beautifulness has transformed women into decorative objects.

To reflect on the social phenomenon, I literally turned myself into a vase, as a protest. This is a prop for turning my body into a vessel, which malfunctions me as a human being and gives me the functionality of being a vase by decorating. With the experiment of wandering in the city as a vase, I raised a question:
If I can only function as a vase, am I still human?
